A Poem: Second Act

A Poem: Second Act

I write poems, but it is only recently that I have started sharing them. I’m in the middle of revising my novel in verse and loving every minute of it.

I hope you like this poem and I hope it resonates with someone out there! This poem is called ….

SECOND ACT

I’ve come a long way.

Today, the water is still.
But I knew her when she was
rough,
powerful
and overwhelming.
The waves will be back.
But for now,
I’ll breathe it in
and hold the joy close.

My precious second act.

Beneath the surface
darkness
waits.
But it won’t swallow me again.

I know how to hold on.

Even if it takes a long time.
Even if it is a long way.
Balance.
Act three will be waiting.

And I will breathe my way
home.
